Mia Marcelle (they/them) is a Naarm (Melbourne) born musician, singer and producer. Their music blends the electronic synth and ambient music with lo-fi folk, making uniquely warm, nostalgic and genre-defying downtempo-pop. Dedicated to a DIY and community-first approach, Mia is always pushing themselves into new directions and moods; writing music that playfully and authentically shares their inner world. Before embarking on a solo project, they were key singer/songwriter for Doona Waves, and played in a number of mainstay local bands such as The Finks and Clancy Walker Band. Mia Marcelle has released two EP’s as a solo musician; ‘Under This’ (2021) recorded at Bakehouse Studios and ’Soft Love’ self-recorded (2024).

Since releasing ‘Soft Love’, their music has been played across Triple R, FBI radio, and Triple Z, Mia performed at Big Sound (then as ‘Charly’), and opened for the likes of Julia Jacklin, Good Morning, Floodlights and Acopia. In late 2023, Mia landed an international artist residency opportunity at ‘Pocoapoco’ in Mexico where they began developing their debut full-length album. The album was supported by Creative Victoria; written, produced and performed by Mia, with extra production on a number of tracks by Louis Marlo of Feltsense Records, and extra recording, mixing and mastering by Andrew McEwan. Ethereal, beat driven, and spaciously layered, Mia’s ever evolving creative work shows their depth as a songwriter/producer; with playful, yet thoughtful lyricism, and filled with pop hooks and uniquely textured soundscapes.
